Mohun Bagan decides to keep Bengaluru FC for now in the Federation Cup. This could also teach a lesson to Shillong Lajong FC on how a team is hurt when matches are played in a friendly manner.

Mohun Baga could have won the game but didn’t show much keenness towards the same. There were no desperation shown. The only desperation was to ensure they don’t lose the game. That would make them get an extra day’s rest beside remaining unbeaten in the Group league.

Mohun Bagan conceded an early goal from defense faux pas. Kingshuk has lost the touch it seems. Anas’ absence was felt.

Soon Bagan went all out. With Jeje being only player upfront and 5 midfielders,  Bagan kept pressing BFC continuously. At this stage Jeje and Yusa missed chances. Tejas being referee Bagan players faced penalty denials and nasty tackles from BFC boys. However Sony brilliance made it 1-1. But then Bagan did not do much and kept control of the game to ensure they remain at the top of the table. Had Bagan been the winner , Lajong who had a timid draw against Aizawl FC in iLEague’s last game, could have moved to Semifinal.
