Thousands of fans gatherd with Chuni Goswami, Sailen Manna, MP Md.Selim to revisit
the golden past of centenary celebration of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club. Its a photographic exhibition at Gaganendra
shilpa pradarshan sala. It was a revisit to the past for all. Photographer Asit Kr. Ghosh presented all the photographs from
his collection. The exhibition ended on 26th June. President of G&M, Rajat Subhra Banerjee said Green and Maroon will always encourage such efforts for Mohun Bagan in the future.

MOHUN BAGAN IS THE CHAMPION OF U-19 NFL

Beating all the odds, Junior Mariners at last won the National League title. At the final, full of actions, Mariners beat Easties. The much awaited match started with a good flavour of attacks and counter attacks. But nither side was able to take controle at the penetrative zone. East Bengal made some good counter attacks, but Mariners withstanded all of them with a good defence. Nadim was marked today, so Malswama took the lead at the forward line. But the match went into a goal less draw at the end of the scheduled 90 minutes and 30 minutes of extra time. So the tie breaker started. At first it was 1-1. Both the teams succeeded to score goals. But then Uttam saved the shot from Easties. But East Bengal goal keeper also able to save the ball and restrict the Mariners to take the early lead. But then it was Uttam again, he saved the 2nd shot. Now Esties were under presser. They tried to equalize, but Uttam saved the shot. The next shot from Easties also saved by Uttam, and at the last, Malswama scored the goal, and took the title for the Mariners. THANK YOU JUNIOR MARINERS, KOLKATA IS WAITING FOR YOU.
Coach Raghu Nandy said, the boys answered all the odds, so he is too happy. Captain Mohun Chakraborty said - Its all for the blessings of our beloved Sir (Raghu Nandi - Coach). It has been reported that Green and Maroon a Group of Mohun Bagan Supporters is going to arrange a Grand Reception for the winning team at the Howrah Station on Tuesday Evening at 8 O Clock when the team will reach the Howrah Station. Media Scretary Partha Pratim Roy appealed to all the common Mohun Baganis to come and join this effort of Green and Maroon and celebrate this moment of Joy.

Today they secured the victory over Salgaonkar by 7 goals to 1.Nadim scored two goals.Other scorers are Malswama, Sudip Banik , Nilkamal, Mintu and Pratim. Now the trophy is just a match away.Nadim already got offer at the senior squad of Mariners. Mariners were leading by 3 goals to nil. Nadim scored one each at each halves. IT'S A CHALLANGE TO US - RAGHU NANDY

Raghu Nandy,the Maidan's very own Raghu da has expressed his view about this oppertunity to the U-19 Squad. With so many odds, these boys has already proven they are not going to give up. A part of Bengali media constanly writing about the U-19 Mariner's squad. They were accusing the team as a rented army of over aged players. But fighting all the odds, even the internal clashes inside the club, this team of young teenagers is not going to give up. And going to take the championship for the first time to the Mohun Bagan. The organizing committee is also not organized. Still 4th June, the team doesn't know with whom the Mariners will lock horns for the semis. But on the other hand, this adverse situation is making this team ready for any challange. Thats why the players like Nadim is getting position in the senior green and maroon brigade. Green and Maroon and group of Mohun Bagan supporters greeted the team with roses and slogan at the howrah station today. They have done it. Green and Maroon proved what should be the role for the common supporters of the club.Not
only the Mariners drawn the match and remains at the elite 8. It's the achievement of Green and Maroon to bring 50 thousands
fans with the famous Bangla Band "Ebong Biswarup" to support the team for 90 minutes. Its the impossible task that they have done.
Everybody’s now looking at the Green and Maroon to retain the Glory once again for Mariners. From the very first moment of the match,
Mariners show that they came to win today. Beto draw the first blood, by scoring a beautiful right footer from 30 yards. Mariners were
tearing down the Churchil Defense line. Tomba was unstoppable. Noel was the captain of the day. And what a match he had, just like
a captain. Churchil came back into the match by a goal, actually scored by the Malaysian Referee. It was a clear cut 15 yards offside
of 3 Churchil players. But at last, we did it. Mohun Bagan remain at the elite 8. May be the next year, Green and Maroon will
lead the mariners squad to the path to Glory.

JOSE CARLOS DE SILVA - The new Brazillian

Jose Carlos De Silva - may be this is the name of the new Brazillian star striker for Mohun Bagan in 2005-06 season. Carlos
is now playing at Thailand for the Tobacco Monopoly,the current topper of the Thailand League. In the last match, Tobacco defeated
Bank of Bangkok by 2 - 1. The last minute goal scroed by this Brazillian forward. Mohun Bagan Gen.Secretary Anjan Mitra along with
recruiter Debasish Dutta were at the stadium to watch this man in action. Both of them are impressed with the skill and form of this
player. So if everything goes smoothly, then in the next season, Mohun Bagan can have this Brazillian player, who has proven himself
in Asia in front of many people. Not like Regis or Juliano, this man is very mutch into the game, and scores regulerly. We hope
Mariners will get a new star in this man, who will lead us to the path to the glory.

Gleneagle Hospital. Jerry's hand has been broken. He is admitted at the bed number 358 of the Hospital.
Jerry will be unavailable for 6-8 weeks. Green and Maroon is going to greet him for his goal, and will
wish him for a speedy recovery.

 The third entity of Mohun Bagan is now writing it's own history with glory and honor. This
Victory is not only a glory for the players, but also a new fethar to the crown of Green and Maroon, A Group of Mohun Bagan Supporters..
Sunil Chhetry proved he has not said his last word in Kolkata Football. Today Mariners had no choice except a thrashing win. For last
2 days, Green and Maroon, A Group of Mohun Bagan Supporters were campaigning throughout the Kolkata to bring more Mohun Baganis
at the stadium. Even they have arranged a musical cheerup campaign with the famous band - Ebong Biswarup yesterday at the
club premises. The spirit was high, and once again Mariners proved how a cornered Tiger can take it's vengeance. Mariners draw
the first blood at the 10th Minute of the match. Jerry Zirasanga, the agile bird from the hills scored the first goal.
The match was pathetically one sided. The Mariners took the control of the entire ground.
But with a bad luck, Sunil Chhetry, because of Jerrys broken hand, has replaced Jerry. And there
comes the hero of the day. At 27th, 56th and 58th minute, the ball touched the Tolly net thru Sunil's boot.
Mohun Bagan midfield was touching the sky today. After a long time, the crowd saw the best midfield of the country
with it's full glory. Beto and Dharamjit missed two close chances. 6 - 0 should be the perfect result of today's match.
But after today’s dashing form, the fans are happy, and confident to beat Churchil at the last match.

JCT hold Mariners at Home

JCT hold Mariners in a crucial match for Mohun Bagan. Still two points behind the Churchil, team is still
fighting for relegation. At the very first minute, Mariners lost an oppertunity to score thru Beto. Then
JCT took the control of the match. The JCT midfield was washing the much vaunted attacking midfield line
of Mariners. But due to Babalade and Du, the defence looks good today, and Mariners were able to resist the
attacks of JCT. Only some counter attacks were accounted at the balance sheet of Mohun Bagan in the first half.
Second half, saw even more boaring game. Only miss passes and slow football at the midfield from both the sides.
Only once at 65th minute, Beto came closer to score a goal, in an one to one situation. But failed to made it.
Babalade got injured while following an arial ball at 85th minute, collieded with Du. But he remains at the match.
After this, Mohun Bagan's relegation is almost sure, now it may be a matter of time. |

how a referee can manipulate the match result by disallowing two genuine penalties and ultimately given a goal,
which was a clear offside to the opponent team of the National Club. Two hundred forty eight years ago, on June 23, 1757,
the flags of Independent Bengal, and India has been dishonored by none other than an Indian. Mirzaffar. Today, after
a long time, the same evil spirit came back in form of the referee, as he has shown the daring attitude to give such
wrong decision against the national club of India. There is nothing to write as a match report. We just have one
message to all Mohun Baganis. "Thou salt rise". One day, with the spirit of a true Indian, we will be taking the

"When you have nothing, you have nothing to loose". When you have nothing (At Mohun Bagan) you still have many points
to loose. A match which can be marked as a comeback fight for the Mariners in future days, shows how the luxery
of loosing points has been availed by Mohun Bagan. Started with a pace and good attacking football, Mariners show
glittering promisses at the first half, missed two close chances through Mehtab. At the second half, Mariners
pushed hard to score a goal. Aged Basudeb has been replaced by Jerry. Mohun Bagan got the 60% controle of the ball.
At 70th minute, Mariners took the lead by Beto. It was only the green and maroon storm at the field for the next
12-15 minutes. But ultimately Mariners returened to the old form, and at the extra time, conceeded the equalizer. |

The first half was totally ruled by the Sporting Clube players . However
Mohun Bagan started to come back as the half time drew to a close . Mehtab
Hussien's shot hit the bar in the 43rd minute . MB came back strongly in
the 2nd half and were close to scoring a goal but Dudu ended their hopes
by striking in the 76th minute.

The match between Mohun Bagan and SBT ended 1- 1 draw . SBT went into the attacking mode from the word go . Their thrusts bore fruit as ex-India International Abdul Hakim scored in the 19th minute . SBT was allover the turf in the first half . The adevtn of Mizo boy Jerry Zirasanga brought Mohun Bagan back into the game as he replaced Basudeb Mondal . MB came close twice in the 68th and 69th minutes before Eduardo Chacon netted the equaliser in the 70th minute .
Earlier SBT could have scored another goal off a Babalade mistake had Subrta Pal not been brilliant under the bar . Subrata Pal was the ONGC Man of the Match.

 The
highly anticipated clash between Mohun Bagan and Dempo ended in a goal
less draw. The Mariners created numerous attacks and Beto outshone himself
today . The team , playing under new coach Amal Dutta showed a lot of
composure in thedefence . The team started with Du and Babalade in the
deep defense and Acheri and Mehraj Wadoo as defensive screens . A surprise
change in the team was the exclusion of star performer Noel Wilson . Coach
Amal Dutta fielded Methab Hussain as a supporting striker for Beto instead
of his customary left back/ medio position . The move created wonders .
Beto proved that he can be a menace for any defense provided he gets some
support . Du and Babalade bottled up Dempo's threatening striker Ranty
Martin with great expertise today . He hardly could do anything today
except for injuring himself in a collision with the gigantic Babalade .In
the second half Babalade almost made a costly mistake when he mistimed a
kick and Ranty could have scored if he were and iota of second faster .
However it was Babalade who cleared the ball again . Dulal today refrained
from going into his usual overlaps while Tomba was very pro active today .
However and right back Manas Das had a messy game today .
The dying moments of the match saw the Mariners retarding into their
defensive shells but the prevented any blushes today . Subrata Pal was

After a meeting held under leadership of Mr. Shayamal Sen with other MB officials on Saturday night club decided
to appoint Mr. Amal Dutta as a coach of Mohun Bagan for remaining NFL matches. Subrata is sacked from his position.
Amal Dutta will bring Satyajit Chaterjee as back room staff. Amal Dutta told in a TV interview
"It's a crucial juncture,MB's disater is like a national disater and I will try to do my best."

Fransa Pax survived a late charge to down Mohun Bagan 2-1 and open their second leg campaign on a bright note in the ninth National Football League,played at the Nehru Stadium,in Margao on Tuesday.
First goal was scored by Peter Rodrigs in the 15th min of the match.
Second goal was scored by Bengamin Ansa in the 66th min of the match.

disappointing results . And ironically it was Asim Biswas - the 'hero' of
missed chances who gave us this much needed win . However it was a day for
Basudeb Mondal who created magic in the midfield for the Mariners .
Basudeb was the ONGC Man of the Match. Mohun Bagan started on an attacking
note as they went up in the 13th minute by a wonderful 25 yard long ranger
off Basudeb Mondal . Basudeb created umerous movies for Bagan in the
midfield but Asim , Beto and Mehraj wasted a few easy chances . Captain
Manitombi Singh made a costly error in the 44th minute as he failed to
clear a rebound off the goal post , and a lurking Gouranga Dutta equalised
for DTDC Tollygunge Agragami . Goal Keeper Subrata Pal had no other option
but to watch the ball go in . Coach Subrata Bhattacharya made a few
changes like bringing on hard workers like Tomaba and Dharamjit , and then
later on brought on Sunil Chettri to sharpen the attacking front . And ,
quite contrary to the scenario of Bagan of late , Ashim Biswas scored the
winner as late as in the 88th minute to get the much needed win for Mohun
Bagan ! |

Sports Club held Mohun Bagan to a 0-0 draw in the home encounter for the
Mariners at Yuba Bharati Krirangan .It was again a tale of missed chances
for Bagan , though Salgaocar too had their share of missed chances . Bagan
clearly were missing the services of Noel Wilson. Salgaocar , who played a
pacy game at the center of the field were thwarted numerous times by

Ajibade Babalade proved that he is a sensible player and not a hoax. As a defender,
he played a good football. He showed good headding capability.Mariners started with a good
form. Mehtab and Ashim showes good combination. Ashim scored at 20th Minute.This is the
first goal of Ashim for this NFL. Beto missed 3 open net while Mehtab missed one at the
first half. Second half saw a more attacking JCT. Babalade got injured and replaced by
coach subrata by Mehraj. And once again Mohun Bagan defence show their poor form. Wave
after wave of JCT attacks were torning down the MB defence line. Ultimately JCT failed
to score, and Mariners secured 3 points from this home match. Now with 10 points from 7 matches,
Mariners are still fighting to secure a good position at the league table.Babalade got

MARINERS- FANS DEMONSTRATE AGAINST SUBRATA

In a match where the Mariners dominated most of the game , Mariners faced
their 3rd defeat of the NFL as Fransa beat them 2-1 . Fransa captain and
former India international Jules Alberto Diaz put the Goan outfit in the
lead in the 13th minute . Tiil then the much vaunted Bagan centerline was
failing to perform . The 2nd half saw some interesting changes being made
by coach Subrata Bhattacharya . He brought old warhorses Basudeb and
Ancheri instead of Mehtab and Sunil . Abhay Kumar replaced Asim Biswas .
The decission reaped harvests alomst immediately as Roberto Mendez Silva
headed in the equaliser of a Abhya Kumar cross . Mariners increased their
midfield dominence but they were clearly missing Eduardo Chacon ! who was
out with 2 yellow cards ... Taking advantage of this , Benjamin Ansah
scored their winner off a costly Noel Wilson mistake to clinch the
winner for Fransa
In an interesting developement , about 5000 Mohun Bagan fans today
demonstarted against Subrata Bhattacharya and the team management
for the current poor performance of the team .

KOLKATA HIGH COURT DECLARED ELECTION AT MOHUN BAGAN -

Kolkata High Court called the two fractions of Mohun Bagan Officials for a mutual today at 2 O Clock. There was a discussion for about 1 hour. Then the court has declared the Election for Mohun Bagan Athletic Club in July 2005. MohunBaganClub.com will give more update on this later. It has been anticipated that the court may ask for the submission of the balance sheet of bank accounts for last 14 years and the election within 6 months from the day of verdict. Mohun Bagan Supporters are eagerly waiting for the vote. Everybody is waiting for a new era of change in the club administration.

Mariners lost the oppertunity to take the revenge of Federation Cup final against Goan outfit Dempo. Ranty Martin, the young Nigerian striker of Dempo strikes twice. Jerry and Sunil was off form, and Mariners lost again. Beto got some good chances in the second half. But his header closely saved by Dempo goalkeeper. Mohun Bagan will play their next match at Kolkata on 5th Februay against Fransa.Ranty Martin stikes once in both half. Mariners need a moral boostup as well as a good striker and a defender.Babalade may be the answer for the defence, but there is no hope for the striking force.

SUBRATA PAL INNOCENT AFTER FINAL POST MORTEM OF JUNIOR AT BRAZIL -

Final post mortem report came from Brazil and Subrata Pal, has been declared innocent after the 4th Post Mortem report. Earlier, 3 post mortem had been done. Two in India, and one in Brazil. All of them confirmed that the cause of death of Junior is due to heart attack. Once again it has been proved that Subrata Pal is innocent. Marniers register their second successive win in NFL against Churchill Brothers thanks to a late Beto magic. Both team started the game on a good note but it was Churchill who get the first taste of blood when Yukubu scores the goal after 20 min. But Bagan soon came back into the game with Du and Noel marshalling the defence and midfield. In second half Sunil Chetrri scored the equaliser and Beto showed a glimse of magic in late moment to secure the victory. Du was awared ONGC Man of the Match.

SPORTING CLUBE'S PLAYERS COACH INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT -

The coach and ten players of Goan football club Sporting Club de Goa
were injured when their team bus, on way to the airport, overturned
at Kolkata on Wednesday.
The accident, at VIP Road in the north eastern fringes
of the city, occurred when the bus, bound for the Dudum
Airport, skidded off the road and overturned as the
driver tried to avoid a collision with a motor cycle.
Inspector General (Law and Order) of West Bengal Police Chayan
Mukherjee said that six of the players were taken to a nearby nursing
home while five others including coach Clifford Chukuwama were rushed
to Suraksha hospital at Salt Lake.
Mohun Bagan officials are constantly monitoring the situation and helping the
Goan club to all possible ways.
Sources at the hospital said while Chukuwama was released after first
aid, the condition of one of the players Peter Pereira is serious.
"We suspect that he has a head injury. He is drowsy and a CT Scan is
being done," the sources said. The three other players admitted to
the hospital are out of danger.
The Goan outfit had come to the city to play a National Football
League game against Mohun Bagan, which they lost 0-1 on
Tuesday.
Eleven other members of the contingent later boarded a Mumbai bound
flight on way to Goa.

Marniers register the first win of the 9th NFL :
Well , it took three outings for the mariners to score the first goal
of this NFL ! But its 3 points for us nevertheless !
As usual , our midfielders were going great guns from the very start
of the match . It was a comeback match for the nippy Sunil Chettri
after recovering from his injury . Sunil , Asim , Basu and our star in
the making Jerry Zirasanga were really setting the ground on fire with
their intelligent maneuvers in the center line . Repeated attacks led
to some free kicks just outside the penalty box and ultimately to a
penalty in the wee hours of the match. Beto converted the penalty kick
without much ado . One up for the mariners . The goan outfit having
the reputation of being an attacking team and having an ex- Nigeria
International as their coach started to play of long balls aiming for
their foreign trio of Dudu Mcpherlin , Chidi Edeh and Adebayo . But
Eduardo Chacon had Dudu closely marked and Noel took excellent care
of Chidi Edeh giving them very little space to operate . We must
mention about SCG's Wilton Gomes who did take some nice tries on the
MB goal mouth but was taken off later on without much reason
The second half saw SCG on the ground with renewed zeal . The almost
socred of a corner but our ever dependable Mehtab made a goal line
clearance . The Goan boys increased their presence in the midfield a
little as the MB coach replaced Sunil Chettri with Palash Karmakar .
The first thing that Palash did was to foul Chidi inside the box !
Penalty for SCG ! . Then the few thousands at Yuba Bharati saw the
magnificient Prasanta Dora fling himself to about 60 degrees to the
right to bring off an amazing save of the Dudu penalty kick . Dudu had
nothing but to clap to Dora's effort ! Mariners created a few more
chances off counter attacks and we saw Roberto Mendez Silva , Jerry
Zirasanga and Dharamjit Singh take some solo runs , but yet we failed
to score a filed goal .
In the end it was sweet 3 points for us .... May this be the take off for us !

BABALADE WAITING FOR THE CLEARENCE FROM NIGERIA -

Nigerian player Ajibade Babalade is waiting for the clearence today. According to the official sources of Mohun Bagan, he will be the third foreigner of the season. Coach says he knows the importance of a striker, but it will take 20-25 more days to find and sign a striker. On the other hand, Babalade is a fine player. He will play at the next match on 25th. Subrata says that the team needs a real leader at the field. Babalade said that either he will prove himself, or he will return all the money and will go back home. Prasun Banerjee, the Mohun Bagani maestro hopes that the early failures can be recovered in next phases. All he and the players need the support from the supporters.

Mariners lost several chances to score. Dominated the whole match with superb midfield, but ultimately conceded a goal by a penalty at 87th minute, and lost the vital match against Mahindra. The problem with the striking ability of Mohun Bagan is now exposed to everybody. Asim, Jerry and Beto, all of them are at the same level of failure and millions of fans are paying their price to support Mohun Bagan by conceding yet another defeat. After the Mahindra match, even the small kids can predict the results of the other matches of Mariners, if there is no change in the forward line. Nigerian Babalade cannot be a ray of hope, because he is a defender. And Mariners is having the problem with the striker. There is no striker at the team. Only God and a good striker now can save Mariners. If the officials cannot arrange for a good striker immediately, the supporters will have to be prepared for yet another threat of relegation.

BIG DERBEY ENDED IN A DRAW -
January - 12 - 2005 : Kolkata
What better way the ninth NFL could have started other than the Calcutta derby? The build up to the game had given rise to the speculation of a cracking encounter. But with the game shown LIVE on television and the tough security arrangement in the wake of Prime Ministers arrival saw both teams played before semi-capacity crowd. The match started 20 minutes late after an appeal from East Bengal officials to give their players enough time for warm up. Alas Mr. Bhowmick who speaks so highly about the need of professionalism in Indian football never realised the importance of starting a game in the right time. One never sees thing like this happening in any professional league. One would think there is a lesson or two for him to learn as well.
Neither team should feel too depressed with the result as the game had draw written all over it from the very beginning. East Bengal started the game with 3-5-2 formation and Mariners stick with the old 4-4-2 formation. East Bengal started the game brightly forcing two corners in first two minutes. And there was more drama waiting! The second corner saw the East Bengal goal disallowed after foul on Prasanta Dora by their striker. Mehraj-Uddin and Du saw yellow cards with the first 12 minutes. The much-experienced Bagan midfield started to take control of the game after the first quarter of the match and even though Beto and Ashim took exceptional workload there were few clear-cut chances. After the breather it was much the same story with the game evenly poised and mostly dominated in the midfield. Notable incident in the second half was Dauglas Yellow carded, sent off of Chandan Das after a rash foul on Noel Wilson, a missed opportunity from Rahim Nabi with the goal in his mercy and introduction of Jo Paul Ancheri in Green and Maroon. The last 20 odd minutes East Bengal played with 10 men but successfully hold off any Bagan attack and after full time the match ended goal less.

The Prime Minister formally inaugurated the ONGC Cup by taking a shot at the goal at the Salt Lake Stadium. The prime Minister called football a Beautiful Game and urged Indian players and officials to work hard in order to achieve greater success and convert India a soccer super power. Other prominent personalities present in the occasion were Defence Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi, Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya, and AIFF President Priyaranjan Dasmunshi. Prime Minister was introduced to the both sets of players from Mohun Bagan and East Bengal before the start of the match.

A large number of people are interested to know about Green & Maroon, and some of them are anxious to get the membership on the spot. People expressing their thinking, their point of view at the stall. At the end of the 1st day the officials of Green and Maroon said they are delighted that their tiredness has been washed out by the love of the supporters, they are thinking to increase the quantities of the product line.

Mohun Bagan will play a charity match against
Nigerian club Saro FC at the Saltlake Stadium, Kolkata on January 7
to raise money for thousands affected by the Tsunami in India. Mohun Bagan
would organise the match jointly with the West Bengal sports department
and the entire proceeds would go to the Indian Prime Minister's Relief
Fund . Saro FC is currently in Singapore.

Dr. Sourabh Kole, Secretary, Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, organized a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) workshop at Mohun Bagan tent today. This was the first time a event of such nature took place in Kolkata Maidan. All players, coach, officials were present, and there was a very interesting interactive session that followed. Dr.Kole had assisted Dr.A.K.MitraMustafi at S.S.K.M Hospital on 16th August 1980 after 16 people died and numerous people got injured during the derby clash between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. Dr.Koley show how to give a proper CPR. He demonstrated on a rubber made dummy. Mehtab Hussain, Sunil Chhetry, Asst coach Shyamol Banerjee followed him and tried CPR. Dr.Kole handed over a booklet to all who were present there, about the CPR.

TSUNAMI FEAR POSTPONE THE CAMP AT SOUTH BENGAL -

As the area of Sundarban has been declared not safe due to Tsunami attack on last Sunday, Mohun Bagan postponed the residential camp at Basanti for 3 - 4 days. Club's Asst.General Secretary Balaram Chowdhury announced it in a press meet today morning. He also confirmed that from now on two doctors will be attached with the team. One is Orthopedic and the other is Physiologist. These two doctors will go outside Kolkata with the team, when the team will go to play any match outside.

CONDITIONING CAMP AND 3 DOCTORS FOR THE TEAM -

Team is going to a 10 day conditioning camp at Basanti - Sundarban area for the final preparation for NFL.While team management has appointed a team of three doctors with the team. They will attend the team periodically, and will give the fit certificate to the players. These doctors will be be with the team while the team will be playing away matches as well as all the home matches.
Subrata Pal is going to Delhi today to meet the AIFF panel. He is accompanied by an advocate, who will produce 2 CDs to the panel to prove that the goal keeper is innocent.

GREEN AND MAROON MET THE PRESS -

The officials of "Green and Maroon" arranged a press meet at the Calcutta Sport's Journalist Association's tent with Maidan Welfare Association. Partha Pratim Roy the vice president of Green and Maroon told the press that the suspension of Subrata Pal must be removed. He said, Green and Maroon and Maidan Welfare Association jointly submitting a petition to AIFF and there they are raising four points as -
1.Appeal for weaving suspension of Subrata Pal.
2.Personal accident & medical insurances of players during match.
3.Adequate medical infrastructure inside and outside the ground during the match.
4.Provocative statements and gestures should be stopped amongst the clubs, media etc.
On behalf of Green and Maroon, Somnath Chattopadhyay, one of the secretaries of the association supported the statement of Partha Pratim Roy. For Maidan Welfare Association Mr. Anjan Nag and Mr.Rahim made almost the same statements. The Chief Guests of this meeting were Olympian and Padmasree Sailen Manna, Olympian Sahoo Meoalal and Coach Amiyo Ghosh. Spokesman of Green and Maroon also told the press that the copies of this petition will be given to the 167 IFA affiliated clubs and to all the state football bodies.

MOHUN BAGAN LIFTS ALL AIRLINES GOLD CUP -

All Airlines Gold Cup find it's home at Mohun Bagan Tent for next one year. From the very first minute of the match, Mariners were fighting hard to get an early lead. In which they got the strike at 14th minute, when Ashim Biswas scored the first goal. 6 minute later, Ashim scored again. In second half, George made some good counter attacks, but Mohun Bagan also missed several chances to score. Beto and Ashim missed some very good chances. Just before the end of the game, Sunil Chhetry give the Mariners a 3 - 0 lead. This is the first trophy of Mohun Bagan this year. Ashim Biswas elected as teh Man of the Match while George goalkeeper Uttam Patra received the Man of the Tournament award.Ashim's return with a good form and 3rd goal keeper Imran khan are the best two gains from this tournament.

NEW FACE FOR THE MARINERS -

Stephen Anthony came from Nigeria to give a trial to get a chance in Mohun Bagan. According to him, he was at the Nigerian Junior World Cup team. He played for Saint Germaine in France, also for a Belgian side in lien for couple of months. A defender can also play as a stopper. He is quite fit and ready to join the trial from 22nd December after the long journey from Lagos to Kolkata via Mumbai. He played his last match in November 2004.

Again a Brazilian Brace, that pull Mohun Bagan into the final of All Airlines Gold Cup. The first goal came early, as Beto scored from Renedy's free Kick. Mohammedan could not counter the offensive play of Mariners. First half saw too many misses from the Green and Maroon squad. Du scored in the second half by overlapping. Second goal caused mental fatigue to the Md.Sporting, and then it was just a time kill match for them. Imran Khan played his 2nd match today, but still, he is not tested against a strong opponent.

BETO'S BRACE -

Beto's brace, one each on both halves help Bagan to get through the first match at Durgapur. The team was not with it's full strength. But the team has got two valuable points to note, Jerry and Ashim are geting back their form. Due to the fatigue of the bus journey, the team could not perform at it's best. BIG DERBY FOR THE SUBJUNIORS -
December - 17 - 2004 : Howrah
The Sheffield of India wormed up during this early winter for the Big Derby of the sub juniors of Mohun Bagan and East Bengal on 17th December at 2 p.m. The match is a part of the "Yuva Utsav" of Howrah which is going on for 4 days at Dumurjola Indoor Stadium near Natun Rasta. The derby clash will be held at Howrah Corporation Stadium at Howrah Maidan. A city full of sports enthusiasts and the traditional strong hold of Mohun Bagan, Howrah will see it's first ever derby, though for the sub junior teams. The teams will be Mohun Bagan - SAIL Academy at Durgapur and the East Bengal sub juniors.
But in a controversial decision by the referee, Mohun Bagan conceded a goal, and lost the match. The ball actually at the grip of the MB Goal Keeper, but EB players kicked him to get the ball, and push the ball into the goal.

YET ANOTHER RUNNERS UP -
December - 14 - 2004 : Kolkata
Beto's brace, Ashim's play as right back and Bibhash's miss resulted the Tolly match in a 2 - 1 win for Bagan. First half saw good ball posession game from the mariners. Bagan got a penalty at 16th minute, and Beto pushed the ball and mariners are ahead by 1 - 0. Sunil Chhetry, Mehtab Hussein and Beto, all missed several chances to score. Otherwise it could be easily 5 - 0 at the first half. Secod half saw some resistance from Tolly. Even they equalized the score line at 80th minute. But it was a beutiful bicycle kick of Beto, that wins the day for Mariners.
I.F.A is trying to arrange an exhibition match between Mohun Bagan and Demp for the charity of Junior's family at Yubabharati This month.

MARINERS WILL PLAY TWO EXHIBITION MATCHES FOR JUNIOR -
December - 9 - 2004 : Kolkata
Mariners will play two exhibition matches for Junior. The team consisting the foreign players at Kolkata will be the opponents. The matches will be scheduled at late December and early January. Mariners started practice for the NFL. James has been released from the team for poor performance. Mohun Bagan officials are in search for a good foreign striker with good height and skill. Mohun Bagan Supporters are showing their support for the team. Everybody is optimistic about the perfomnace in NFL. Mike Okoro is coming to India to play for East Bengal. 15th December he will send his confirmation.

Members of Internet Fan Club of Mohun Bagan maintaining silence for the day, by not posting any message. MohunBaganClub.com has become black and white in memory of Junior for 3 days, 6th,7th and 8th December.The whole family of Mohun Bagan fans are feeling the same pain and sorrow as the family of Christiano Junior. As the football lovers, Mohun Bagan fans will start a movement for a safe and well managed playground, where sufficient doctors and medical equipments will be available. As always, the supporters of the National Club of India is way ahead of others in this regard. Already fans met Justice Shyamal Sen, and submitted their demand for a full time doctor, physiologist and a psychologist for the team. Good or bad, whatever may be the result; fans are saying they will be with the club and players as always.

JUNIOR - THE TRAGIC HERO -
December - 5 - 2004 : Bangalore
This is not the moment to celebrate the joy for Dempo as winners and not the moment of sorrow for Mohun Bagan as the runners up for Federation Cup. This is the moment, when all the football fans throughout the country is feeling deep sorrow inside their heart, as the true hero of Federation Cup final has been passed away due to cardiac failure at the ground, at the time of scoring the second goal for his team. Nothing to mention about Mohun Bagan for the final match. They never looked like a champion, and surrender to the pair of sharp razors - Junior and Ranti. Junior scored 1 goal each in both the half's. Junior had been taken to a nearby hospital immediately, but ultimately lost his life. It's a tragic end of a great hero.

MOHUN BAGAN AT FED CUP FINAL -
December - 3 - 2004 : Bangalore
120 Minutes of aimless football and a world class goal by Tomba at 107th minutes. That's all about. There is nothing to mention specially for the team. Early first half saw Bagan is trying to take the possession of the mid field, while Sporting Clube de Goa was trying to lob the ball inside Bagan box for Dudu. But Mehraj din wadoo actually put Dudu in his pocket, while Noel Wilson, in his new role as a stoper was covering the area as a sweeper. While the forward line was a real flop today, as Beto and Sunil was running uselessly at the top of the SCdG box with the ball, but could not even find a small hole to push the ball inside. Joseph, the attacking medeo, the man behind the victory of SCdG against East Bengal has been successfully marked by James. Last 20 minutes of 2nd half saw wave after wave of SCdG attacks were rocking the Mohun Bagan defense, but bad luck for SCdG they could not scored. Extra time started with a slightly better play for Bagan. Just after the start of second half of extra time, Tomba took a long ranger from 40 yards, and scored the goal. That is the only mentionable incident of the match.

TOLLY OUT OF THE FED CUP -
December - 3 - 2004 : Bangalore
Nigerian import Ronty Soleye Martins scored a hattrick as Goan outfit Dempo prevailed over Tollygunge Agragami 4-3, to storm into the final of the Federation Cup football championship . Junior scored the other goal for Dempo. Dempo will now take on Mohun Bagan in the final. In fifteen minutes of the game Tollygunge made a lead.Surojit scored the first goal for Tollygunge by a beautiful header.Ten minutes later Junior compensated it by scoring his solitery goal.Tolly gaunge defence could not perform as per their fame.Ronty scored his first goal at 30 minutes of the 1st half and made a lead.Musha equalized it by a spectacular freekick.But in the injury time of the 1 st half again Dempo scored a goal.In the 2nd half Dempo created enough pressure in Tollygunge side.R.C Prakash,replacement of Junior,imposed threat in Tollygunge box.Martins scored his 3rd goal getting pass from Prakash.But just later Isiyaka scored a goal made it 4-3 from the corner of Suman Das.

MOHUN BAGAN AT FED CUP SEMIFINAL -
November - 30 - 2004 : Bangalore
The National club of India played the quarterfinal match as per their reputation, and totally outclassed JCT Mills of Phagwara by beating them 4 goals to 1. From the beginning of the match, spectators saw good attacking football from both sides. While Ashim, Tomba, Mehtab and Dharamjit were gearing up for the top speed, Noel, Dulal and Meharj put effective speed breakers at the defence for JCT. The first goal came at the 30th minute of the match when the keeper missed the ball and Beto did not hesitate to push the ball into the net. Within 14 minutes, Sunil Chhetry scored and pull the score line to 2 - 0 in favour of Mohun Bagan. But JCT were not wiped out. They were trying their best to put their feet into the ground and to get back into the game .Just before the half time, Beto missed the penalty and the chance to take the match into green and maroon pocket. After halftime, they scored their only goal at 65th Minute. But spirited Bagan strikes back as Dulal Biswas scored the best goal of the match by a terrific long ranger from 50 yards. Beto scored the 4th and final goal for Bagan at 89th minute. A good performance, a total team game shows Mohun Bagan as the most promising candidate for the winner of the tournament.

SPORTING CLUBE DE GOA MADE IT TO THE SEMIS -
November - 30 - 2004 : Bangalore
Sporting Clube De Goa, the team which is not part of the elite group of Indian football, shows the spirit and team game by beating multi star and most expensive team of the country , East Bengal by a solitary goal at the quarterfinal of the Federation Cup. Dudu, the foreign striker actually did what he wanted with the best defense of the country. East Bengal midfield shows a demoralized game with no penetration and distribution. Brazilian Paulo was not up to the mark, as he has been replaced by Mama. But with the full team for the first time this year, East Bengal show a poor demoralized football. The only exception was Sangram Mukherjee the goalkeeper. He was brilliant. Sangram saves at least 4 shots at goal. While the East Bengal forward line took no shots at the SCdG goal during the whole 90 minutes of the match. Dudu scored the goal by a header at 86th minute. Selwyn Fernandez of East Bengal shown a RED card due to his bad tempered behaviour with the referee Shankar. SCdG will face Mohun Bagan at the Semifinal on 3rd December.

MOHUN BAGAN AT FED CUP QUERTERFINAL -
November - 26 - 2004 : Bangalore
Mohun Bagan won their first match against Indian Bank by a solitary Goal and will face JCT Mills Phagwara at the
Quarterfinal of Fed Cup. The performance of Mariners for this match was not upto the mark. Though midfield hold the ball possession in favor of Mohun Bagan (70-30) but forward line was too slow and aimless. Beto missed a header and missed the first chance to score at Federation Cup. While at 38th minute, Beto's header has been block by the Bank keeper, but James got the loose ball which he flicked into the goal with the left knee. That was the only goal for Mariners. While in the second half, the boring slow football bored the spectators as well as some of the coaches of other teams like Sabbir Ali. Mohun Bagan is in the quarterfinal, but Mohun Baganis of Bangalore are not happy with the performance.

DEMPO THRASHES EVERREADY -
November - 25 - 2004 : Bangalore
Dempo Sports Club from Goa thrashes Everready Sports Association by 3 goals to 1 in the 3rd pre-querterfinal match of Federation cup at Bangalore. Dempo scored first, then Everready equalized, then Dempo took the lead..Junior scored his first and the 3rd for Dempo. In the second match, Churchil Bros beat Vasco by tiebreaker 8 - 7. So both the winners will take each other in the querterfinal.

FED CUP STARTED WITH BIG UPSETS-
November - 24 - 2004 : Bangalore
Big upset at the first day on both matches as Fransa beat the favorite Mahindra by 3 - 2. Fransa took lead 2 times but Mahindra equalized on both occasion. Ultimately Fransa took the lead at 80th Minute and retained it till the last Minute.
Tolly took the lead at first half, but Salgaonkar equalized during the 2nd half. Tolly goalkeeper saved first and second penalty of Salgaonkar and pull Tolly to the Quarterfinal.

Mariners won 5 - 4 at the crucial semifinal against Salgaonkar SC of Goa. The first 10 minutes belongs to Mohun Bagan, as the Maroon and Green flashes made the spectators blind. wave after wave of Mohun Bagan attacks were torning off the young Salgaonkar defense. But after first 10 minutes, Salgaonkar tried to hold the ball, and slow the pace of the game. In which they succeeded. Later in the first half, it become a boring slow aimless football from both the teams.
Early in the second half, Mohun Bagan tried to take the lead, but the superb strategy of Coach Savio Medeira and Salgaonkar defence withstands all the attacks of Mohun Bagan. While from the counter attack, Salgaonkar almost scored a goal. It was the young hero, Subrata Paul who saved the day for Mariners. He even saved the penalty of Felix, which has given unfairly against Bagan at the 80th minute of the match.
Jerry Zirasanga replaced James, who was unimpressive from the first minute. Tomba Replaced Noel, but there were no positive attacks from anyone of them. Rupesh Kumar played his first match for Bagan, when he replaced Mehraj in extra time.

CONDOLENCE -
Sao Caetano (Brazil) defender Serginho (full name Paulo Sergio de Silva) died after collapsing on the football ground during the ill-fated game. he died in hospital after suffering a cardio-
respiratory arrest during the 2nd half of the match. the match was against Sao Paulo. he just has finished 30 years, ten days ago. he has been playing for this club for last 5 years, and he was a symbol of his club's amazing rise from obsecurity. when he joined this club, this club was a 2nd division team in Brazil. but now this team has no. of achievements in last few years. this team is now one of the Brazilian champion contender, reached finals of Brazilian championship for 2 times, even made it to Libertadores cup, the South American's top club tournament.

MISSION DURAND -
Mariners are preparing to capture the Durand. Coach is busy with Ancheri with set piece movements. James, the new Nigerian is impressive. He has got very good sense of position and powerfull shooting capability. While Rupesh Kumar is un impressive and likely not to be included into the mariner's squad for Durand.
Asim Biswas , Tomba Singh , Prasanta Dora , Jerry Zirasanga have been called up for the national camp for the unimportant match against Oman. Though the absence might serve as a setback for the Durand plans , Bagan shows their National Spirit by releasing the players for the camp.

PROTEST -
MohunBaganClub.com strongly protest against the call for national camp for an insignificant match against Oman. The camp will start from tomorrow, and will go on still 17th November 2004. Till now these camps gave us 18 goals against India in 4 matches, a huge squad of Injured players and tones of shame.
As the fans of National Club of India and patriotic Indians we do realize the duty for the motherland for every footballer. But for this insignificant match, teams will not get their best players. Mariners have to exclude Tomba and Jerry from the squad. As Japan has already qualified from this group, the match against Oman has been left with no value. So the players are much important for the Durand cup. We protest against this faulty decision of coach Stephen Constantine.

Consolation prize for Bengal as they won the last match by 1 - 0 against Uttar Pradesh. Bengal, already out from the Santosh Trophy tournament played their last match. Some players are joining the national camp directly from Delhi, while other players are coming back to Kolkata. Basu, Noel,Mehtab and other mariners will join the practice by tomorrow.

ANCHERI AT PRACTICE -
Jo Paul Ancheri joines the practice with other mariners on Monday 25th. Coach is happy with the fitness level of Ancheri. May be teh fans can see him wearing Maroon and Green during the Durand Cup. Ancheri will be used as a defensive medio as the Coach says. Coach is also happy with the other two players on trial. He said the problem with the defense seems to be over. While club is thinking over James, the Nigerian striker of Khiderpore club. He has good speed, and his turning is very well.

Mighty Bengal lost to Services by 2 - 1 and out of the Santosh trophy. While playing in a uncomfortable position as withdrawal forward, Mariner Mehtab could not do much. Trailing by 2 goals Bengal reduced the margin by through a penalty. Eastie Madhab Das has been shown a red card. Bengal team is returning on 26th.

RARE HONOUR FOR MOHUN BAGAN -
Mohun Bagan Athletic Club has been chosen
among the top 11 clubs by FIFA to form
an Elite Task Force for club football. There are Byrne Munich and Barcelona FC. This task force will work for the betterment of the club football. Swapan Sadhan Basu,Hon. President, Mohun Bagan Athletic Club will be the representatiove of the club at FIFA.Mr. Bose joins the president of the Japanese giant Jubilo Iwata, Takanori Matsuzaki, who is the other Asian name in the 11-member body.
The `Club Task Force' is not an official committee but is conceived by FIFA as a platform for clubs from all confederations to express their views and concerns in an informal gathering. It has been constituted to "confirm that FIFA recognizes the existence and importance of the clubs within the game,'' stated a fax from the world body to the Indian federation — AIFF.
Interestingly, there is another Indian name in the list and that is of Mr. Sunil Gulati, who as the president of the New England Revolution of United States of America, is representing the only club from the CONCACAF. The first meeting of the FIFA Club Task Force will be held in Zurich on December 17.

on Mohun Bagan today.There are two tracks from two groups - "Sanjeebani" and "Onno-Mone". "Dos Minuter Khel" the famous Bengali sports show in Akash Bangla Channel produced the CD. Anilabha Chattopadhyay the top man of "Dos Minuter Khel" spoke for the production. He says that he is expecting Mohun Bagan fans to buy and play this music cassette. This is the first ever released song on Mohun Bagan.
"Dos Minuter Khel" also gave stalls to sale this cassette during the Durga Puja at four famous Puja Premises. The response from the Mohun Bagan fans are tremendous. SWEET REVENGE -
Sweet Revenge over the rivals. In a 120+ minutes awesome show of dramatic football, Mohun Bagan won the prestigious derby match against the arch rival East Bengal. This is the first win over the rivals, as 2 derbies saw no results during CFL. With a depleted squad, without the best midfielder of the country Tomba, Mohun Bagan faced East Bengal in the semifinal of 110th IFA Shield tournament.
In a slushy ground, in front of more than 70 thousands spectators, Mohun Bagan took the control of the mid field, despite an early attack by Easties. Du took the control of the defense, while Mehraj put Paulo, the best Brazilian recruit in his pocket. Beto, the latest mariner showing the flashes of his skills. The pace of the match tuned in a very high speed. Wave after wave of Mohun Bagan attacks were literally torning off the Estie defence line. At 40th minute, Mariners took the lead. Beto was trying to push the ball into the goal, while Lewise Aniweta stopped the ball using his hand inside the penalty box. It was the penalty kick of the tournament. Beto fulled Eastie goal keeper Rajat and pushed the ball inside the goal opposite to him.
Just after a minute, Eastie's Mama show a wonderful example of play acting inside the Mariner's penalty box and wins a penalty kick. We hope, Mama will not have any problem after retirement from football with his superb acting skill and will get a good place at Bollywood. But Play and play acting are two totally different things. Paulo is not a match for Beto. He simply push that ball outside the goal area. It's 1-0 for Bagan at half time.
Second half saw desperate Easties trying to score goal at any cost. But in 56th Minute, the best moment of the match came when Beto took a diagonal shot between two Eastie defenders from the left corner of the box. It was the shot of the day. But the ball hits the post, and Marines missed the chance to take a 2-0 lead. But within a few minutes, from a loose ball, Mama scored a goal for Easties. It is 1-1 at 61st Minute. Second half and extra time were almost same, except Eastie's goal keeper Rajat has been shown red card.
in tie breaker, Marines converted all the penalties into the goal as Easties. Now the situation came for sudden death. Prashanta dora saves the 8th shot, and it was Mohun Bagan. Marines shouted all over the stadium. It's victory at last. Thank you Mohun Bagan.
