Practice - 07/07/07

It was another rainy day in Kolkata. It
rained like anything in the football city for the last 4 days. Today's morning
was not an exception. But nothing could resist Mohun Bagan players from having
another hard working practice session. In fact right from the word go practice
is going on in full swing for the mariners.

Practice started sharp at 8 o'clock
ignoring the nonstop drizzle. Carlos was wearing a red T-shirt and trademark
maroon shorts. MB supporters very own Satyajit Chatterjee the assistant
coach was in light green T-shirt. All the players turned out today except
outstation player Ventatesh, Rauf Khan, vice captain Dharamjit, senior team
camp players Bhaichung, Manju, Deepak, Maria, under 19 national team player
Lalamzuawala, Mohanraj and four local players Subhasish Roychowdhury, Imran
Khan, Kumaresh Bhawal and Bijoy Basfore who are out for viral fever. |

Before start of the practice the MB supporters presented Carlos and Stayajit a 3 and 1/2 feet long boat, a football ground shaped huge cake, a big green and maroon Lobster shaped sweet, flower bouquet. Satyajit was separately presented a Green and Maroon jersey on the back of which was printed a poem written by an ardent MB supporter with signatures of all the MB fans. He was also presented his huge portray having green and maroon background. All the players were gifted red rose. The whole function was performed in a very organized and professional way. Coaches, players, officials were completely overwhelmed by the greeting of these emotional supporters. Few supporters started saying Carlos as "Carlos-da". It is great to see a foreigner winning the heart of emotional MB lovers in such a passionate way. | |
| After this ceremony was over practice started in full swing. The players were divided in two groups. One group started running all around the ground and the other group started ball controlling. After minutes it was reversed. After that players played small passes and handball. Sangram, Shilton and Praloy - the three goalkeepers were practicing separately. Finally they did stretching and physical conditioning. Everything occurs under close supervision of Carlos and Satanist. Adebao was under special scanner of Carlos/Stayajit as he is under trial. Habibur who is not 100% fit yet did some light physical training. |

After a hard training session players
went for bathing and breakfast around 10:30 am. Meanwhile Carlos attended
the press conference along with his deputy Satyajit. |
