Odafa suspended – and justice denied

The iLeague Disciplinary Committee has penalised Mohun Bagan captain Odafa Okolie by Rs. 1,50,000 and one additional match ban. Surprisingly the iLeague committee failed to take any action against the referee whose behaviour raised eye brows and whose intention on the match day maligned Indian football. AIFF failed to act against the misbehaviours of the 2 opponent players who were found clapping and raised the tension in the gallery. AIFF failed to act against the Home team for all the misdeeds in spite of the same being reported by the Match Commissioner.

The Press Release –

All India Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee comprising of Mr. NA Khan (Chairman), Mr. Rakesh Bakshi, Mr. Uma Prasad Mukherjee, Mr. Premashis Chowdhury and Mr. DS Sivaswamy, met at the Football House on Monday (January 21, 2013).

The Committee reviewed all the documents, the video of the I-League match between KEB and MMB (played on December 9, 2012) and interrogated Mr. Odafa Okolie who was present in the hearing.

After taking into consideration an unconditional apology from Mr. Okolie, the Committee imposed an additional one-match ban (in I-League 2012/13) and also imposed a fine of Rs. 1,50,000 on the Mohun Bagan player.

The Committee has directed that Mr. Odafa be allowed to play only after paying the necessary fine.

Salgaocar-2: Bagan-0

Mohun Bagan lost to Salgaocar by 2-0.Bagan has got only 16 matches to save their relegation. But now they have only 15 matches on their hand with no points in the bag so far. Bagan did not play well in the match while, their key players like Tolgey and Nabi has been booked. If Bagan has to stay in the first division of the I League then Karim has to implement some extra to his team. Any predictable strategy can hardly work for his team. Bagan will meet United Sikkim FC on Thursday, 24th January at Kolkata.

Starting from 0

Mohun Bagan will resume their I League from tomorrow at Goa. They will meet David booth’s Salgaocar in an away encounter. This match cannot be seen as other I League matches. In fact, all the football lovers of India will look after the game becausr after revoking the ban imposed by AIFF, Bagan will play for the first time. However, Mariners main hope Odafa Okolie will not play this match due to suspension of red card shown in the last match against the local outfit East Bengal. But aussie star Tolgey Ozbie is ready to fire after getting fit.

Bagan coach Kareem Bencharifa did not get many match to show his credibility. After 41 days of  total rest Bagan player must be fit better than ever. They must not forget that they have to start from 0, which they earned in previous matches i.e. 12 points is converted to 0 as punishment. So Bagan’s main concern would be three points and nothing else because the players and officials have no other choice so far to avoid the relegation.

Meanwhile Odafa is asked to appear before AIFF disciplinary committee on Monday.

Press Meet of Anjan Mitra- Atin Ghosh

After revoke the ban Bagan officials have met the press for the first time today at the club tent.Managing Director of McDowell Mohun Bagan and Hony. General Secretary of Mohun Bagan A.C. Mr. Anjan Kumar Mitra met the press along with Mr. Atin Ghosh, Honurable Member of the Executive Committee.

Mr. Atin Ghosh was among them who stood firm against present officials (Gang of Four), therefore, he was eager to submit his resignation to the executive committee. But in the meeting Vice President Mr. Subrata Mukherjee (Hon’ble Minister of Govt. of West Bengal) as well asGita Nath Ganguly (renowned advocate) and other members took the initiative to stop him from submitting his resignation. Atin Ghosh also told that everybody of committee have agreed to run the club together with unity.

Anjan Mitra told that they saved at least 100 lives, they revoke the ban, they get Bagan into football again as well as the players, also they bring smile to the crores of Mohun Bagan supporters. He added that it is the best decision so far he has taken in his tenure within Mohun Bagan.

In the answer of a question regarding fine of Rs. 2 crores, he told that they are yet to receive any letter from AIFF. After receiving the letter they’ll decide how they disburse that money. There is a committee has been set up for this action. In this committee there are four top Bagan officials along with Subrata Mukherjee.

Some of the media person has asked to Mr. Mitra that the Secretary of Kingfisher East Bengal commented that there is a game of crores of money under the table between AIFF and Mohun Bagan. Mr. Mitra told that they are not in the position to remark on this type of comments from other club because that is against the culture of Mohun Bagan.

Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan will play their foremost match after rescind the ban against Salgaocar on 20th of this month at Goa.

Anjan Mitra – will you resign now?

Mohun Bagan’s ban has been revoked by AIFF after the Executive Committee met today. First Ushanath Ganguly placed the issue and then Bagan President commented (read apologised) on behalf of Mohun Bagan. Finally Mohun Bagan’s ban was revoked, Bagan fined and all points were taken away. Bagan will resume from the 17th round with ZERO points! Odafa’s fate is yet to be decided. mohunbaganclub.com findings show that Bagan’s loss is more than just Rs. 2 Crores – Bagan failed to organise the home matches – and the overall loss for Bagan is not less than Rs. 10 Crores! But Anjan Mitra’s loss? Not a penny! He will just be banned along with Debasish Dutta for an year.

mohunbaganclub.com invites Anjan Mitra to resign from the post of Hon. General Secretary of Mohun Bagan AC and Managing Director’s post of United Mohun Bagan Football Pvt. Ltd. with immediate effort.

His lack of football and administrative senses, his attempt to argue unnecessarily, his adamant behaviour and nepotism costed Bagan most! He should take the responsibility of the mess that went around for last 6 weeks and should resign immediately.

The reasons why his resignation is demanded –

#1. Mitra influenced to put his kins ( daughter and son-in-law) into Club’s or Academy’s important posts without any hindrances – with powers to deal with money !

#2. While Bagan Football team was for playing games and participations – Mitra kept on skipping games – and fans across the country kept on missing opportunities seeing their favourite team participating in a football game. Bagan stopped participation in IFA Shield or Durand, gave walkovers in Kolkata League and participated in a black-listed tournament just for the sake of winning a trophy!

#3. Mitra opened mouth unnecessarily against AIFF and IFA officials – and Bagan had been marginalised for the same!

#4. Mitra sidelined ex-players and their voices were ignored continuously forlast few years! Instead of using the ex-players for the betterment of the club Mitra kept on insulting them.

#5. Mitra kept on recruiting wrong coaches -and those with success were asked to leave just for the sake of big ego Mitra (and Dutta) had – and Bagan kept on suffering

#6. Mitra (and Dutta) failed to recognise the abilities (and inabilities) of the players and many of them were paid heavily and retained for years while those who were able and willing (e.g. Chidi, James, Deepak, Lalkamal, Marcos, Kingshuk to name a few) were asked to leave in a very awkward and unhealthy situation!

#7. Mitra was more focused on getting funds for pet projects his kins were involved into – but was never seen taking Bagan to the next level where the institution would have been praised at national and international level. The only 2 good things Bagan achieved in last few years –

a) netting 5 goals against arch-rivals

b) successful organisation of home matches in iLeague

#8. Mitra failed to improve the infrastructure of the Mohun Bagan ground (the ground condition’s credit goes to Mallick and not Mitra) or the galleries and Bagan is yet to organise iLeague home matches in its own ground

These are just some of the points enough to pain Mohun Bagan supporters who, along with the ex-players and thousands of members, suffered a jolt just because of lack of foresightedness of Mitra! Many more are within the closet or uner the carpet – and mohunbaganclub.com politely requests Mitra to accept the guilt and resign with immediate effort.
