AIFF revealed this year’s Federation Cup format. The date of tournament is not yet decided. Matches in the Federation Cup will be played at the home ground of one of the two teams. The team who plays at home is decided when the matches are drawn. There is no seeding system in place within rounds other than when teams enter the competition, therefore the home team is simply the first team drawn out for each fixture.

If the game ends in a draw – there can be another game played in “away” ground ( AIFF yet to decide) and if that ends in a draw we move to extra time and finally penalty shoot out. Semi-final and final

Mohun Bagan’s General Secretary Anjan Kumar Mitra was admitted to a private hospital today at the EM Bypass, Kolkata due to a Cardiac problem. Mitra is now in the ICU. He complained about a chest pain – and is doing well now. Mr. Mitra was scheduled to attend a function on club’s promotional activity with Bajaj Allianz of junior footballers at a city hotel today.

A letter from the General Secretary of the club has been published in the official site of the club. In the appeal, the Hon. General Secretary has appealed to the supporters and members of the National Club to stand by the beloved club in the moment of crisis and contribute into the club fund. The letter raises some queries and that need to be answered by the club officials to maintain transparency and clear all doubts in the minds of the fans and supporters.

a) The letter is not duly signed

b) The letter mentions forming the football team – but the football team belongs to a Private Limited – so how the club and its members and fans be part of the same?

One of the first to respond positively for the appeal was member, Mohun Bagan club ( Membership number L-665 ) who is also the president of the National Club.
