Mohun Bagan’s draw in the first match could be costly as they fail to maintain the lead till the dying moments and conceded a goal in 88th minute. He celebration from Minerva clearly states the mentality of the team that celebrated a home match draw in the iLeague opener.

Bagan played a mediocre game with very less positive movements. The movements Bagan had were because of Sony’s individual brilliance. He scored the first goal of the tournament on his own, after intercepting a Minerva movement and running for more than 30 yards and placed the ball well.

In the srcond half Bagan was denied from a penalty when Faiaz was fouled inside the penalty box. Faiaz made an open net miss as well.

However Minerva played very well in the second half and they actually missed 4 chances.

Shilton Paul can’t be blamed for the goal Bagan conceded, however Debjit was definitely missed who could have saved it.

Sony was awarded Man of the match.
