Mohun Bagan has won it’s maiden title of the ISL League Shield after winning against title rivals Mumbai City FC by 2-1. Liston Colaco (28′) and JAson Cummings (80′) were the scorers for Mohun Bagan today.

Mohun Bagan played 22 games in this League and won 15 games, drew 3 and lost 4 games. Mohun Bagan got 28 points from away matches and 20 from Home matches.

After three consecutive losses, Mohun Bagan management accepted resignation of the then coach Juan Ferrando and asked Antonio Lopez Habas, the TD, to continue as Chief Coach. Habas made one major change in the squad- dropped star player Hugo Boumous and got in Joni Kauko into the squad.

The decision worked like a magic – and for the remaining games – Mohun Bagan lost only one game- against Chennaiyin after conceding a late goal.

Dimitri Petratos was found to lead from the front and he won game after game for the team. He was assisted by Manvir, Liston, Jason, Amrando, Kiyan.

Sahal and Ashique missed vital games due to injuries after brilliant starts. However new stars were born for the team – Amandeep, Abhishek, Dippendu were new findings.

The initial days saw Glan Martins, but soon it was Deepak Tangri who started playing as the blocker for Mohun Bagan. Hnamte joined him as well.

Anirudh Thapa slowly recovered from injury and was outstanding at the end of the League.

Defense saw captain Shubhashish Bose, Yuste, Rai – and once they were back from injuries – Anwar and Hamill were outstanding too.

But perhaps the most valuable player of the game was none other than Vishal Kaith – the new Mister Dependable – he was outstanding match after match and his abilities helped the team win the title.
