Mohun Bagan 5 – 0 Kalighat MS

Odafa’s hat-trick helped Mohun Bagan to get victory over Kalighat MS in Sahara CFL by 5-0. After a long time Mohun Bagan fan saw some spectacular action from their very own Odafa Okolie and Mohun Bagan keep their hope to win the Sahara CFL still now. Mariners started the game with full swing of attack but unfortunately they did not score goal. In the 37th minute Ram Malik broke the jinx scored a brillant goal by his left footed thundering shot.

Bagan was leading by that goal till break. After the break Bagan got a gifted goal via sameside of a Kalighat player. Sabeeth took the corner and the ball flicked into the net by touching the foot of Kalighat player. After that the lock gate of Kalighat MS  opened for Bagan and Odafa took the chance to complete his first hattrick of the season so far.

Bagan is now on 21 points after 9 matches and on top of the table.

WAKE UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

mohunbaganclub.com appeals to the supporters and members of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club to wake up before it is too late as Bagan enters into 4th consecutive trophy-less year ( keeping the blacklisted Trophy aside)

Dear Members an Supporters of Mohun Bagan,

It is already late. However, if you don’t wake up now, the damage will be beyond repair.

This is the thir consecutive year Mohun Bagan is trophy-less, and the current year is no different. One can still hope if one sees that a team is been formed to really conquer the nation in forthcoming year, but alas, there is no light in the end of the tunnel.

Mohun Bagan was constructing good teams until we won against our "arch-rivals" who conceded 5 goals against us in 2009. Since then, the team has stopped performing. It seems that the victory of 2009 turns out to be a curse than a boon. Since 2010 for 4 years the only interest the officials shown was in bringing in funs for various projects, and no major success from these projects.

The players of today’s Mohun Bagan are not aware of the rich culture this club has, and youth football is a major setback here. Ad to it, changing coach is a habit though not a single official properly puts down his paper ( you will find a recruiter resigning from a post from time to time that does not have any value, while the post with monetory benefit is retained, but helps him move away from being accountable)

The president of the club is highly respected among the supporters and members, an we still hear promises from him in achiving something constructive each year- but as soon as he is away from Kolkata, the team’s think tank faces the problems of non-payment, recruitment of injured players, imbalanced team and of course inciting politics among the players leading to lack of unity among them.

I’m sure now the ex-players will come up with lot f statemens – but their leaders will either become a TD for few months or might end up winning a “Ratna” that will lead to end of all sorts of revolts – and Bagan will continue with this set of officials.

Since elections don’t happen and there are not many people in respectable positions won’t disturb the current officials, it is obvious that the current set of officials will hold the post for the next term as well, until we act.

Folks – it is time to act – and let us be united for “Mohun Bagan” for once. Let us for once, keep ourselves away from giving hot statements and take necessary actions so that Bagan’s lost glory is retained – or else we’ll cease to exist in the National level of football in near future.

Dempo sinks the boat of Mariners

Mohun Bagan lost another match at home ground today in the I League against Dempo. After the end of the match, while returning to home Odafa and ex-player Cheema was mobbed by the supporters of Mariners. Cheema managed to run-away with the car but Odafa couldn’t. He tried to get a Auto Rickshaw from YBK to South City, but auto driver denied to take him to his place, then some of the supporters came for help to Odafa, called a taxi for him and Odafa was taken away by the taxi to South City.

It is not the first time time, this season, in fact after every match supporters are showing the annoyance against the Mariners. But there is no sign of improvement so far. After inclusion of Chrtistopher Prayag was the fluke, because after that Bagan falied to earn even one point. They faced defeat against Mumbai FC and Dempo consecutively.

Odafa is really haunting his form badly. Chirstopher also suddenly fotgets his route to reach the goal. Dempo is not the very strong side in this year I League, not a single foreigner played today against Bagan, yet Bagan manage to earn 1 point even from today’s match.

MFC 1-1 MB

Mohun Bagan manages to secure 1 point after a late equaliser from Sabeeth as Rafi scored an early gal for MFC.

Officials must clarify status

Bartaman Patrika, a vernacular newspaper, has mentioned that an official residing at Salt Lake mentioned that Mohun Bagan could have conceded 6goals on 9th December 2012 and hence he decided to withdraw the team. A clear indication is towards Anjan Mitra. mohunbaganclub.com would expect Mr. Anjan Mitra or any other Club official to formally give a statement in clarifying the club officials’ standing in this issue. If the statement is correct Mitra sould resign for his unsportsmanlike behaviour or else should bring the newspaper’s reporters to trial for misinformation.

Mohun Bagan 4-0 United SC

Chizoba Christopher scored twice that sealed Mohun Bagan’s victory over United SC and helps them to secure three vital points in the iLeague. The Mariners looked energetic right from the word Go and two more goals – one by Ram Malik and another by Captain Odafa helped in the comprehensive win today.

Christopher found the first goal within 19th minute of the game.He scored a lovely goal from an Odafa pass in the added time of the first half to make it 2-0. Both Odafa and Christopher threatened United on several occasions, both were falling in offside trap through out the game.
In the 50th minute the visitors were caught out when Ram Malik scored a fantastic goal from a Yusa pass.

In the 73rd minute Odafa header made it 4-0. The right team selectionhelped Bagan with a clinical win.

Ishan Debnath got injured in the 90th minute and had to be taken out to a nursing home opposite to the Stadium in an ambulance.

The ship is sinking

when the line up against Rangdajied was declared, any fan could guess that Mohun Bagan has taken a defensive approach – as seen against Kingfisher East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting. People could guess that there is a negative thinking by the management. And Rangdajied ended up registering their first victory in the iLeague. So Bagan is part of the history once again as being the first club losing against Rangdajied in iLeague. Bagan off late is been on the receiving end in football history rather than creating one- like it used to be until these officials stepped in

Odafa, the captain of Bagan was cursed and sweared after the end of the game. It all started against East Benal when he had unbelievable misses against the rivals. Against Mohammedan again he failed to prve his worth. And he missed an opportunity against Rangdajied in the 28th minute. It is hard to believe that he failed to score in situations where the highest paid player of Indian Football coul easily scored even 2 years back. A similar miss was there in the 63rd minute of the game as well. A goal was saved in 85th minute.

One wonders why Karim has faith on Eric and fails to put Sabeeth in the striking zone from the beginning of the game. Sabeeth is either found working as a withrawal forwards or as a midfielder – while we all know he as a very good ability to score!

If Eric really nees to be there – he can actually be at the midfield damaging the attacks of the opponents – the aged person does give a comfort to opposition in the final third.

The north-eastern team in fact played a better football, taking advantage of the negative approach of Bagan. ey were able to score in 22nd and 66th minute by Manandeepand
Lyngdoh respectively. Mananeep did well for the second goal as well.

It is clear from the game that the ship is sinking. We are not sure if the officials are once again deciding upon the squad instead of the coach. We are unsure if the players are getting the dues and the officials are motivating them as well.

Ex players will again come up and shout – and Subrata Bhattacharya is expected to be the fron runner for the same – an no wonders that his lose comments ( though justified) will be used by the officials and their sycophants in their favours. In deed they require some "Yes men" and the current think tank of the senior football is indeed toe the line.
