At times Eche is moving up – hence Kingshuk is the lone stopper and he is not the best in stopping a good striker of foreign origin. Pritam is doing well on the right but he does not have anybody to cover him when Eche is up.

since Pankar and Yusa are moving up, Denson an Zakeer (again both of them have tendency to  move to the left) covering the middle third, there is a clear vacuum in the right flank. Christopher lacks the abilities of a positive striker , an one can’t depend upon him to score. Sabeeth is off colour, as a result the problem of finishing a good move still persists.

The coach can opt for 5 midfielders instead and should also check if Yusa have a better understanding the shankar Oraon than Pankaj. May be Ram or Ujjwal (until Manish who recently joined back to the practice, iis unavailable) can start from beginning.

Let Yusa and Shankar operate from left, Ram or Ujjwal from right and Zakeer/ Denson from the middle- when one goes up, the other covers him. Let christopher be the lone striker at the top of the box. He is doing well in coming down and defending but really needs to overlap as well.

A 4-5-1 can be a better option than the current 4-4-2.

We know that  you gave your best in spite of some failures in the recent tournaments where we failed to see success. Definitely some of your moves were not enough – we missed few points since we failed to score in vital matches in Kolkata league, leading to missing the top spot, we failed to score against Churchill Brothers @ Federation Cup semi-final (beside conceding a debatable penalty leading to the 2nd goal), and failed efforts against Dhanmundi @IFA Shield where at least for three occasions the ball hit the post (that does not take away the credit  of scoring a world class goal by the opponent from a free kick for a foul that was NOT committed and two offsides while the players were clearly onside, and were in scoring position)

Yes- we are moving towards yet another  trophy-less year, failure which we have off late started living with. However, let me thank you for all your efforts, an you were honest in trying to get us the much awaited success, that you couldn’t. Thank you- for at least trying to be there for us.

We know it is difficult to be motivated, but we can still hope that you will bring us some pride in the remaining matches of i-League. Please can you work extra and ensure you are not hitting post – and are actually scoring? Hitting posts are actually not due to luck, but due to lack of practice. Can you practice a bit harder please?

Can you ensure you are converting penalties to goals, or scoring from dead ball situations? Please can you word a bit harder to achieve the same? We know that the Captain of the ship is out for some more days as he continues to "nursing injuries" ; you all can take the extra work load in trying an scoring – this can only happen if you continue to practice – and practice hard. We have a good season when it comes to goal keeping, defence, defensive midfield, and two wings – but we are struggling at attacking midfield and striking zone. Gear up and give us some satisfaction this year.

The match between Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan in the IFA Shield has been ended in a goalless draw.Mohammedan advanced to the semifinal of the tournament, while Bagan need to draw in the next match against Dhanmondi Sc on Saturday to reach to the Semifinal.

Mohun Bagan beat United Sikkim in the IFA Shield match. Sabeeth is the only scorer of the match and scored in the 33rd minute from a corner of Denson Devdas. Apart from that Mariners created several attacks but couldn’t convert them to the goals. Zakir missed the penalty as well as Katsumi’s shot hit the post. Though in the post match press conference Karim clarified that Katsumi couldn’t score the goal in the I League match against Bengaluru FC, that is why he instructed Zakir to take the penalty. But Zakir failed to increase the margin for his team. Bagan will next play against Mohammedan Sporting on 5th February at VYBK.
