Mohun Bagan becomes the first Indian club to reach AFC Champions League second round qualifier. Mohun Bagan will now play Shandong Luneng FC at Jinan Olympic Sports Centre, Jinan on February 2, 2016 at 3 PM.
Mohun Bagan could have won by at least 6 goals however Glen and Jeje missed some easy chances. Tampine Goalie was brilliant and had daved at least 4 goals including a penalty. Debjit also had a busy match, particularly in the second half and had saved two goals for Bagan.
Bagan got early lead when Sony passed a ball to Dhanachandra who crossed it for Jeje and Jeje chipped the ball to goal.
Bagan missed few more chances in the first half before Glen managed to touch a Sony cross to goal.
Tampine reduced the margin before the end of the first half from a mistake from Bagan defense including Debjit.
The second half saw defensive Bagan that later geared up to miss few goals. Yusa increased the margin in the second half that nailed Tampine.
However the understanding between Yusa and Glen needs to improve. There were quite a few occasions when Yusa was in a better position but Glen did not pass the ball to him.
